Top 15 SEO Tips To Put Your Site Higher In Rankings

Top 15 SEO Tips To Put Your Site Higher In Rankings

While preparing to launch a new website, or updating a current one, spend some time working on optimizing the website so that it ranks well in the search engines. It takes some time, but the return on investment can be huge.

Read this article for the best tips for search engine optimization & how to easily make changes to your website that can ramp up your visibility on the web.

Build a great series of appropriate backlinks on your site. Have your keyword phrases be in the titles of said links. Make sure that these network links are related to your content, otherwise, they could possibly work against you. Using backlinks is a great way to bring in traffic from various areas.

Websites need to be regularly refreshed with new content and pages to help with effective search engine optimization. Keywords are great yet they can only help your site to an extent. If you are writing about popular subjects, it is easy to get lost in the crowd. You do not want your website ranked low on a search engine. Keep your recommendations fresh by linking to appropriate and influential high ranking websites on a regular basis.

In SEO be sure to get the right keyword density. Use keywords evenly throughout your title, headers, and your articles, as well as in other areas on the page that will call your article to the attention of search engines. one to two percent keyword density is considered best these days. That means one or two keywords per 100 words is optimum. I would suggest you to use the Google AdWords Keyword Tool. This is one of the best free keyword research tool available. Almost all tools fetch the data from Google!

Make sure your keywords are both relevant and specific to site content. A tag containing a more generic keyword phrase (i.e.: Digital Marketing Course) will face very heavy competition in the Search Engine Results Pages, whereas something more specific (i.e.: Digital Marketing Course Syllabus) will likely get your higher up the list. A higher ranking is one way to increase traffic to your site.

Pick the right URL shorteners. You want to make sure the search engine still gets credit for finding you, but some URL shortening companies do not allow that to take place. Search out the right ones that give credit where it is due, and your search engine will thank you.

While getting noticed by search engines is exactly what you want to do, remember that your main goal should be to attract new readers, not search engines. Keep your content relevant to the interests of those visiting your site, and word of mouth may help you as well. Search engines are great, but don’t expect them to do all the work for you!

You can improve the search engine crawling of your website by including relevant words in your URL. Using a simple and descriptive URL increases the possibility that a user will remember it. If they can remember it easily, they are more likely to return to your site or create a link to it.

A good rule of thumb to follow when dealing with search engine optimization is to use your keywords and keyword phrases in your URLs whenever possible. Most search engines highly value the use of keywords in the URL, so rather than using arbitrary numbers, opt for replacing them with keywords.

Making use of HTML header tags can help optimize a page’s search engine ranking. While the lower levels of header tags are unrestricted, a page can only have one header assigned to the top (H1) level. This is typically reserved for the page’s title. Including multiple H1 tags will break a page’s HTML and render other SEO efforts pointless.

When selecting your keywords it is important not to think like an insider. Instead, imagine that you are a customer. Zero in on the phrases that potential customers are actually going to punch into the search engine.

Keep track of all of the traffic to your website. The very first day that you build your website, you should install tracking software that provides as much data about your visitors as possible. By tracking which keywords they are using to find your site and how they are behaving once they arrive, you can gauge which of your search engine optimization efforts are working and which could use some improvement.

Never get rid of a 301 redirect! There’s absolutely no point to getting rid of it anyway; it’s not like it’s cluttering up your server or taking up major hard drive space. Backup your redirects as well because you never know when your server might melt down or your host might go under.

Use unique content on your website to generate traffic. Posting information that you can find on several different websites only helps you to blend in and not stand out from the crowd. By choosing unique and original content for your website you are offering something no one else has to offer.

Be very careful if you’re sponsoring links! Unless the links are actually within the content that someone will want to read, they just don’t work. A good use of a paid link would be having your website linked to from a blog post reviewing an item you sell as that would drive targeted traffic to your site.

Get involved in social media. Posting links to your blog posts on some of these sites can get you multiple responses that can add to your audience base. It’s a great way to draw in new readers!

Set up a XML sitemap page for the search engines. This will help the search engine spiders find and index the important pages of your site. The sitemap page can make a huge difference in your site’s visibility if it has a navigation menu that is difficult to crawl. If you have a large site, make a few sitemap pages. Don’t put more than 100 links on each page.

As previously noted, it is important to spend time on search engine optimization when making a new website or updating an existing one. In order for a website to be effective, it has to rank well in the search engines.

Making Search Engine Optimization Work For You

Making Search Engine Optimization Work For You

For a great number of people search engine optimization doesn’t come naturally; therefore, extra guidance is needed. This is very common as SEO involves a great number of tasks if you want to ensure that you are getting the best benefit from the practice.

How to optimize your website for search engines? Regardless of your business and the niche you are following, you want website optimization techniques at your disposal to get your optimization on the right track.

If you want to find a certain phrase and you’re using a search engine, put quotes around the phrase to bring back results with those exact words. “Search Engine Optimization Course” will bring back only results with those four words in that order, while simply searching for search engine optimization course (without quotes), will bring back results with less accuracy.

If your website provides a local service, it is important to use the name of the area that you serve as one of your keywords. For instance, use “digital marketing course in Chennai” instead of simply “our course.” This will make it easier for people who live within your particular market to find your site.

Always make sure that the individual pages that make up your site link to themselves as well as your main web page. By having more pages that link between themselves, more traffic will be received by each individual page. This is one of the most basic ways to optimize and grow the traffic you already receive to your site.

If you choose to hire SEO experts to improve your website you must question them carefully on how they get results. The term “black hat” applies to anyone that intentionally does shady things to increase SERPS. This may help a website out for a while, but it can also get you punished and your rankings will suddenly drop. Once that happens it takes a lot of effort, time and money to fix.

When it comes to search engine optimization, you have to be patient. You are not going to see immediate jumps in traffic simply because you optimized your site yesterday. It can take up to several months to see a significant result from your search engine optimization process. Especially if you are a new business, or have recently started using a website.

You can greatly improve your ranking by including your keywords in a page’s URL. If your URL is full of symbols or characters that are rarely searched, the page will not rank as highly as you would like. Including important keywords that are relevant to your site will significantly improve your page’s traffic.

A popular way to optimize your search engine results is to use Google AdWords own keyword tool. Using it, you can examine what keywords people are using to search for specific things. With this data, you can then begin adjusting your own keywords to match what others are using, to generate more hits.

Do not title any of your pages with general information. Even your welcome page should be titled with something relevant to your website. Doing this will allow a search engine to direct someone to your page without difficulty. It also lets the customer know that this is, indeed, the page they were looking for.

If site protocol allows, include one link inside the body of the article that leads to information on your site. Scammers steal articles and often post them without making any changes. With a link leading to you placed inside the article, even stolen articles can be of benefit to you.

Do not use trademarked terms and product names in your meta tags unless you have the arrangement to do so with the owners of the trademark. Trademark owners are fiercely protective of their valuable property online. They will not appreciate it if you use their terms to drive up your website’s search index ranking.

If you need your visitors to know something or to follow a certain set of instructions, make sure you’re providing this information. Some things you know might be obvious because you know them, but your customers might not have a clue. Always be thorough in your explanations if you want to prevent confusion and a mailbox full of questions.

Use caution when linking your website to other websites in order to avoid being banned from Google’s index for inadvertently associating yourself with Black Hat practitioners. Black Hat practitioners use cloaking, spamming, redirect pages and other deceptive means to try and circumvent search engine techniques. Although Google or other search engines can exclude your website from their index for linking to one of these sites, you won’t be penalized if one of these sites link to yours.

One effective search engine optimization strategy is to use links within your own website to boost the rank of individual pages. When properly used, internal links can help search engines determine which pages of your site are most important and which keywords are relevant for those pages. To make the most of this technique, link from one page of your site to another, then use the keyword phrase you want to rank for in the anchor text of your link.

If the host of your site allows spammers, find yourself a new host. The engines will eventually get around to shutting out IP’s that allow spammers and you will find your site shutout with the rest of them. Check and see if your host has a policy against spamming in their terms and conditions.

Create a series of email auto-responders for customers who sign up for your mailing list. Offer a tip a day or a relevant series of articles and have them set to go over a set amount of time. Include both content and a sales pitch in your emails to help convert potential prospects into paying customers.

Search engine optimization may not be very simple to start with, but as you get the experience you need, you will find that it is not only beneficial, but a great way to market your business online for a low cost and even by yourself. Create an SEO action plan template and put in place the processes to be adhered to.

On-Page SEO Best Practices

On-Page SEO Best Practices

Search Engine Optimization is an essential element to be implemented in your marketing strategy. This should be taken up on a priority basis while creating new landing pages or blog posts.

To maximize conversions, we also need to have good relevant and original content to be found and convert. Check out these latest on page seo techniques.

When creating new landing pages or even looking to improve existing pages, I would suggest you use the below checklist to help you boost the SEO effectiveness of your site without affecting the ability of your pages to convert. After all, it’s a win-win situation and worth the time and effort put.

Search engine optimization has always been an essential element to your marketing strategy, but often it’s not thought of as being a priority when creating new landing pages. Sure, you want to maximize conversions (and don’t get us wrong, conversion optimization matters too), but at the end of the day, you need your content to be found in order to convert.

Key benefits of On-Page SEO and why you should even do it:

  • The first strategy you should focus on is to improve user experience or UX. A landing page with a good user experience will lead to more conversions.
  • Follow the On-Page strategies mentioned in this post to easily get higher page ranking on SERPS, thus improving visibility and conversions.
  • Better ranking = more traffic = more leads, sales, ad-clicks, and overall revenue.
  • The leads generated through SEO have a higher chance of getting converted. Research says that 15% of the leads get converted to a sale.
  • For every rupee spent, small businessmen can generate approximately 3-5 times as many leads in comparison to traditional marketing.
  • 65% of the users never scroll past the 1st page of the SERPS. If they don’t find what they want, they either change the search engine or the query term or keyword.

Here are my recommendations for On-Page SEO optimization

Creating SEO Friendly URLs

URLs have a significant role in creating a perfectly optimized page. The ex-employee of Google, Matt Cutts has clearly stated in one of his interviews that URLs can also be used for ranking your content. By adding 3-5 keywords in the URL helps Google and other search engines to determine the main keywords of the page. The URLs have to be short and it will help you rank your website higher.

I recommend you to read Search Engine Journal Guide Five Steps to SEO-Friendly Site URL Structure.

  • Things to keep in mind before you start editing your URLs
  • URLs must not be too long for e.g. https://skartecedu.in/blog/how-can-you-make-your-pages-seo-friendly-and-can-get-higher-ranking.html
  • Make URL easy to read and understand, for example, https://skartecedu.in/blog/on-page-seo-techniques/
  • Don’t use numbers instead of words, e.g. https://skartecedu.in/blog/p-500

Use SEO friendly Title Tags

Title tags are considered as the most important element of on-page SEO. It must be properly optimized. Search engines use title tags to determine the topic of your page if you have used your focused keywords in title tags which you want to rank for you can get ranking easily.

Use keywords at the beginning of Title Tags

Suggest you start your Title Tag with a keyword. This helps you to rank for your specific and focused keywords. Refer below image for an idea on how to create a Title Tag with a keyword.

start your title tag with a keyword

When you use keywords at the beginning of your Title Tags, it is easy for search engines to understand the main topic of your page and show them to your targeted audience when they search using a particular keyword. In the above image, the keyword “Digital Marketing Course in Chennai” has been used in the beginning of the title, thus making them readily available to the audience basis their search query.

The Title Tag should not exceed 70 characters as it will get truncated and dots will appear towards the end. The Title Tag will improve click-through-rate (CTR). If your website has good CTR then your site’s pages will be automatically ranked higher. Your audience will also be able to find your website and understand the purpose of it. I recommended you read the Moz’s article on Title Tag Length Guidelines.

Use modifiers in Title Tags

Modifiers are the words that are added in title tags to make them more appealing and attractive. These words include “Best,” “Guide,” “New,” “2018”, “Review,” “Easy” and some other words of this kind.

Things you should know when you write Title Tags

  • The length of title tags must not be more than 63 characters (It may vary with upper or lower case because Google gives just 600px of the area for titles in search result page.)
  • Use keywords at the beginning of title tags in such a way they make sense.
  • Don’t stuff your title tags with keywords.
  • Using “Best” and “New” also helps you to boost your CTR because when a user sees these words in the search page, they click to see what is NEW or BEST.

Use Meta Description

In 2009, Google had announced they are not using Meta Description tags to rank web pages. But Meta descriptions are still important as Google use the phrases in the meta description tags to understand the purpose or the topic of your page.

Wondering why Google doesn’t use Meta Descriptions, then check out the below video –

Even if Google is not using Meta description tags remember there are many more search engines like Bing, Yahoo who use meta description tags to identify the topic of your page.

Use Heading Tags for SEO

Heading Tags are incredibly powerful, and search engines also read your heading tags. These tags are used to break up your page into various sections so that users can easily find the information they are looking for.

Heading Tags are classified from H1 to H6 and these tags are critical because the words used in heading tags are also considered as the secondary topic of your contents. It also helps Google understand the purpose of your page

Use Keywords in H1 Tags

H1 Tags are the most powerful heading tags than others. Ensure to put your Central Keyword here. Remember there can be only one H1 tag in a page and multiple H2…H6 tags. Suggest using Latent Semantic Indexing Keywords. Search using LSIgraph.com

Use Multimedia to boost your engagement

If you are just using text on your pages, then your visitors may get bored and can find it difficult to understand. Multimedia is the best and easiest way to engage your audience and thus making them happier. Here Multimedia can be Videos or images.

Ensure to optimize your images

Using Images in your contents is a wise idea, and they really help in optimizing your pages perfectly. For optimizing images use your target keywords in an image name, ALT tags and consider reducing the Image size. The image should be of 72ppi (pixels per inch) and the file size should be low. If the file size is very high, then this can affect your website loading speed and your visitors will just bounce off. You can use WP Smush to optimize your images on a WordPress website.

Use YouTube Videos

Using YouTube videos in your contents is the easiest way to optimize your website for search engines and reach the top of Google SERPs. You may have seen many YouTube videos getting ranked in the search results. This helps your pages to boost its ranking easily. Always upload your own video to YouTube and add a description of 250 + words for that YouTube video. In this way, your videos will work better. YouTube also belongs to Google, just imagine the impact it can create in your rankings.

Use Keywords in first 100 words

If you write naturally, then you can drop your keywords in first 100 words very quickly as you know some people start writing their blog posts which a long intro having hundreds of words and they often use their targeted keywords after a long introduction which does not produce a good impression on users as well as search engines.

Get your pages to load faster

Fast page loading speed has become an important ranking factor, and Google has clearly stated this on their webmaster’s blog. If you want to find the loading speed of your site, then you can check it on Google’s free page speed checking tool called page insights. You can also use GTMetrix or Pingdom. GTMetrix gives your suggestions, optimizes your images and I use this majorly.

Tips to make your website load faster:

If you are on WordPress, then using any caching plugin helps a lot in loading your pages faster. I use WP Fastest Cache & WP Optimizer. You should also host your website with a good hosting company who provides 24×7 support and 99.99% uptime. Many companies host multiple websites on a single server with a single IP Address and this causes server load and thus affecting your website loading speed.

Use Mobile friendly or Responsive design for your website

Since the beginning of 2015, Google has started penalizing all those sites which are not mobile friendly. Google has come up with a feature called AMP – Accelerated Mobile Pages. This enhances the way the website is displayed on hand-held devices. AMP strips off all the images and only shows the content to your audience. Thus, increasing the speed of your website as well as your rankings. Google has made it mandatory that webmasters make use of this and make their website more mobile friendly.

If you want to check either your site is mobile friendly or not, you can use Google’s Mobile friendly site testing tool. Use this link -> https://search.google.com/test/mobile-friendly

Internal linking is a must

Internal links are very useful as they help your visitor to keep on reading your pages as well as increase the number of page views per visitor. Internal linking creates a web of links around your blog, and when search engine bots start crawling your pages, they crawl each and every page of your websites.

If you want to see some examples of internal linking, then there is nothing better than Wikipedia they have average 50 internal links on each page. This proves that internal links are most important. For a WordPress website, you can use the Yoast Premium Plugin which has a function for internal linking. It displays a long list of similar topics basis a blog post and helps you easily link articles with one another.

External Linking

External linking has become the most popular on-page SEO technique since Google has started giving importance to those pages which often link to useful and authority pages. You can give a source link, to avoid duplicate content issues.

Use Latent Semantic Indexing keywords

LSI stands for Latent Semantic Indexing, or you can say it is the synonyms of your targeted keywords. Google algorithm uses LSI keywords to identify the topic of pages. You can receive more traffic using LSI keywords without having the problem of competition because LSI keywords never get displayed in competition. Suggest you to use LSIgraph.com to find your LSI keywords.

Keywords like on-page SEO, SEO Techniques, SEO Guides, Link building techniques have high competition and are also difficult to rank. Hence, I suggest that you use LSI keywords as they do not have much competition and you can easily rank your website.

If you want to find some LSI keywords in the SERPs, then scroll down towards the bottom of the Google SERPs to find Searches related to <topic>. Whatever keywords are displayed here can also be used as an LSI keyword.

Long & engaging content

Google loves more content and those websites that meet this criterion will get displayed in the top 10 search results. Well, there are no standards for writing long content, but your pages must have at least 1500 words enriched with relevant keywords.

The number of words in your pages also vary with your niche, for example, if you are running a blog related to technology, news, or jobs, etc. then 1000 words are enough, but if you are writing about SEO, then you should write 2000+ words.

People visit your site for content. So you should ensure that the content is original and relevant to their search query so as to keep them engaged. The content should be interesting and at the same time useful and informative.

Tips for Creating Engaging Contents

  • Don’t make the paragraphs too much longer.
  • Add images and videos where needed.
  • Use attractive and simple fonts.

Increase Dwell Time On Your Website

Dwell time is the time which a visitor spends on your site. Dwell time is often not considered as an on-page SEO factor, but it is important or critical because Google looks for these metrics to rank your website. Google records dwell time and use it as an important ranking factor for your site.

Read on to understand how to increase the Dwell time of your site. Well, this is also very simple to let me explain it.

  • First, start your pages with some useful intro so that visitor’s thing you have provided something that deserves a read.
  • Show your popularity to get into the mind of readers.
  • Put a table of contents at the beginning of your page so that user can immediately see what you are providing.
  • Use short paragraphs at the beginning of your contents it helps users to read and digest your contents quickly.

Use Social Sharing Button For Social Signals

Matt Cutts has said that Google is using social signals as a ranking factor. Social sharing button is very useful especially when you have created a super good piece of article and your readers want to share the same with their friends. By adding a social sharing button on your website, it will be very easy for your visitors to share the content. Sharing content on social media creates a ripple effect and there are chances that it goes viral. More and more people see the article and keep sharing thus increasing your website traffic as well as its ranking.

Readability Level

Have you ever read any legal document like a privacy policy or terms of conditions of any big company? I bet 95% of the people cannot understand what has been written in those pages. This is called readability level.

It tells you how difficult or easy it is to read your website contents. You should optimize your content in such a way that it is easy for your visitors to read and understand. In WordPress, the Yoast Plugin will tell you whether your content is readable or not. Yoast’s “Flesch Reading Ease Test” and that is what I am going to tell you. If your reading level score is about 60 – 70 then it is good else you need to seriously rethink your content strategy.

Encourage Comments

Google gives a ranking boost to those sites that have implemented good commenting systems on their website. When you encourage comments on your contents, it will increase your reputation in Google’s eyes, and consequently, you will be rewarded with a boost in rankings.

Increase Click-Through-Rate (CTR)

Google uses click-through rate to a rank website, and I am 1000% sure for this because this has happened to me. I have boosted the traffic of a site by just increasing the click-through rate. Wondering how can CTR increase your rankings the watch below video created by Brian Dean.

Copying and pasting the keyword list as-is is not a good practice for improving ranking. A better way would be to simply pick some of the phrases and write quality content around them in a natural way.

All of the above techniques are easy to follow and I am sure if you follow them you will always find your site at the top of the search result page.

Top Off-Page Search Engine Optimization Techniques

Top Off-Page Search Engine Optimization Techniques

Off-page SEO isn’t linked to the site’s internal linking structure but it deals with the other aspects that affect a website’s ranking on the SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages). These factors are primarily connected with a website’s inbound and outbound linking techniques.

For the most part, it’s in the off-page optimization that creates backlinks for your website and also your site’s rank on the SERPS.

Below are the best Off-Page search engine optimization techniques

Link position:  link at the footer of a website is weighted less heavily by Google than the one looking on the top or in the primary content.

Link Age: Link era plays an important role in optimizing your website. Older links which have long been on your site are regarded as better by Google as compared to lately put links.

Domain Authority (DA):  The appreciation of this link partners should not be solely on the PageRank or about the significance of these topics. The authority of a site helps in link evaluation. When a site is ranked higher by Google, it is because optimized and relevant content exists on the website. As a consequence of this, links categorized by high authority websites are a lot better and thus encourage the Link Building process along with the link building service provider.

Domain Age: In the off page optimization of your website, the age of the domain would also be evaluated by Google. Domains which are already registered for years and also have high-quality content is going to be valued higher.

Social Networking Sites: Social Networking is larger than ever these days! Sometimes known as “Online Reputation Management”, getting involved with social media sites is the fundamental step with which you begin to advertise, market and build your online reputation within your niche. This enables you to extend your online network of connections, to connect and interact with friends and family, to share things with one another, and most importantly promote your website/blog and help build your online reputation.

You need to sign up for the most popular social networking sites, such as; Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google+, etc., and create yourself a profile of your own. This allows you to extend your online network of contacts, to connect and interact with your friends, to share things with each other, and most importantly promote your website/blog and help build your online reputation.

Simply do Blogging: Blogging is among the most effective ways to promote your website online! By writing a blog for your website, you provide a reason for visitors to keep returning to your site and keep current with your most recent articles. Additionally, it helps search engines to crawl your site more often, since they need to upgrade your latest blog post entries, which ultimately can help you rank higher in search engine results pages (SERPs). Try to remember to be clear and concise in what you’re trying to convey to your readers through your blog articles, don’t waffle. To help you promote your site, submit it to niche site directories and site search engines.

If you’re not too good at writing content to your site, then you can always employ a guest blogger to your blog and ask him/her to write precise and unique articles so that your site can gain more credit from a search engine point of view.

Blog Marketing: Post comments on other blogs within the same niche as yours, which allow you to add a link in the comments section. These links can then be crawled by search engines, helping to point them towards your site.  These links can then be crawled by search engines, helping to point them towards your website. These blogs are commonly referred to as “Do-Follow” Blogs.

Forum Marketing: Locate forums on the internet that are related to your sites niche and get involved within that neighbourhood. Response to ribbons, answer peoples questions, provide advice, etc.. This all helps to develop your reputation as somebody who is an expert within that niche. Try to use “Do-Follow” Forums so that you can include a link to your site inside your signature, which helps search engines crawl your site.

Search Engine Submission: Search engines will eventually find your site online, but that can take a while. To speed everything up, you should submit your website to the most popular search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.

Directory Submission: Many people can state that directory entry is dead! I feel that it isn’t as you are increasing the probability of individuals seeing your website. It’s purely based on how efficiently we are selecting those directories and how effectively we are picking the category for entry. You could submit to overall directories, however for maximum effect, you’re better off submitting to market directories. Obviously, I agree that it gives quite delayed outcomes, but it might be worth doing this.

Social Bookmarking: Social Bookmarking is another excellent method of promoting your website. Search engines really enjoy these types of sites since the content on these sites is updated quite frequently. Sites include StumbleUpon, Digg, Delicious, Reddit, etc.

You ought to be very careful when doing this and you have to properly deal with the tags that are extremely essential to broadcast your information on a wide area network. This may boost your website traffic according to how efficiently you have engaged.

Link Baiting: Link baiting is another popular way of boosting your website. If you produce a really popular one of a kind post for your site, then other people may want to link into it. Maybe you’ve copied/published another site’s content on your site, do not forget to place their site link for a reference. Do it for others and, if your content is trustworthy, let’s do it for you. That can be another way to increase your link popularity.

Photo Sharing: When you have used any one of your own photographs or graphics on your website, then you can share them on many of the major photo sharing sites like Flickr, Photobucket, etc.. Other people will be able to see them and comment on these, ideally after a URL to your site.

Video Marketing: Just like photo sharing, if you have some videos that you have used on your site, then you can submit them to sites like; YouTube, Vimeo, etc. allowing people to seek out your content in other ways.

Business Reviews: Write reviews about other people companies or request your friends/clients to write an overview of your company in major business review websites like RateitAll, Facebook, Google Reviews etc..

Local Listings: Depending on your site’s market, you might realize that list in local directories may be useful. You may have a site promoting your local business, therefore rather than going global and facing enormous competition, list your site locally, so that search engines can quickly view your website and fetch the content, will probably be far better. This can help you to reach a targeted audience. Submit your website to sites like; Google Local, Maps, Yahoo Local, Yellow Pages, etc.

Article Submission: If you write your posts yourself, then you can submit them to popular post directory websites like; Ezine, Go Articles, Now Public, etc.. This can help drive traffic to your website, whilst you can also gain some links to your site from different individuals (though it’s normally a slower process).

Social Shopping Network:  If you operate an e-commerce site, then a good strategy for advertising and branding your products at no cost would be to distribute them to online shopping networks.

Answer Questions: You are able to actively participate in answering questions on websites like Quora. By asking and answering pertinent questions in your own site market, you help to develop your reputation as somebody that is an expert in your chosen field. It is possible to set a hyperlink to your site from the source section if necessary so that people can easily find your site. If you don’t spam, this is just another great way to increase your website popularity.

Great Ideas About Search Engine Optimization

Great Ideas About Search Engine Optimization

So, you have made the decision to utilize SEO tactics for your site. That is a great thing! But, with all the information out there, finding a good place to begin can be difficult. There’s no need for you to worry, the search engine optimization tips you might need are right here.

The following SEO Tips will assist you as you get started on this journey.

Search engine optimization is perhaps one of the greatest marketing tools to come about online, but without proper article submissions it won’t work out to your liking. That is why it’s imperative to search and find the best article directories to submit your hard earned work and watch the numbers start to add up.

Use alt tags for images and span element titles to your advantage. Search engines look at a site’s code, not what is actually visible to a user, so if your keyword is “cat” and there is a picture of a calico cat on your site, using an alt tag of “a calico cat” for the image will expose the search engine to your keyword even if the user never sees it. The title of a span element works in the same way.

Websites need to be regularly refreshed with new content and pages to help with search engine optimization. Keywords are great yet they can only help your site to an extent. If you are writing about popular subjects, it is easy to get lost in the crowd. You do not want your website ranked low on a search engine. Keep your recommendations fresh by linking to appropriate and influential high ranking websites on a regular basis.

Avoid using Flash content to help with SEO because it won’t. While it looks great and can be impressive, you are not allowed to link to single pages in a Flash site. For the best results, don’t rely completely on Flash. If you want to use it, do so sparingly.

Include the most important keywords for your site in the left-hand navigation bar and title of your homepage. These texts will be searched before the main text on your website, so you should include the keywords with which you would like your site to be most closely associated with.

Don’t use generic words in your keywords list, like “computers” and “books”. This will generate too many results and will most likely, not show your site at the top. Instead, using more specific words and phrases like “digital marketing course in Chennai,” can be less competitive and be more effective for your site.

It should go without saying that one of the keys to search engine optimization is to promote your website. Make great use of all the social networking tools at your disposal and don’t forget to set up a newsletter and RSS feeds to give your visitors new reasons to keep coming back for more.

URL extensions are like differently shaped light bulbs. They all light up a room. In other words, using .html, .htm, or .php will not change how a search engine views your website. You can use whichever extension you choose. There is no distinction, and it has no impact on your ratings.

You should make use of the keyword tool from Google Adwords’ to optimize the search engine. The keyword tool will find the most popular keywords that are related to your website. The Adwords tool will show you the number of searches for a word or phrase that you enter. Use this tool to find the best overall words or phrases to use for your site.

Sometimes it’s helpful to ask yourself what keywords you would type in to search for your particular business, and then include those in your site. Add keywords to both your title tag and main content, but keep your keyword density to a sane level to avoid getting the dreaded “keyword stuffer” label.

If you come across favourable reviews, stories, or mentions of your brand or product on another site, capitalize on the free publicity by linking back to that site (and possibly even returning the favour). This is a popular and highly successful tactic that increases your exposure to online visitors to other sites that may not even be directly related to your business.

Increase your visibility to search engines by taking steps to ensure that your site’s title, keyword tags, and page description are not duplicated anywhere within the domain. Each and every page must have its own unique title, meta description, and meta keywords tag embedded within the site’s HTML code.

All the SEO in the world won’t help you if your website host is unreliable! Before you choose a host, check their reviews to ensure they’re stable and easy to work with. A website that is down is one that is NOT making money. Also, make sure they have good customer service. You never know what issue might come up that you’ll need help with!

If you are optimizing a blog, your post title tag should be optimized separately from your blog title. It is important to try to use the major keywords you’ve selected for the topic of your blog in the post title tag as major Internet search engines will index those tags and put a high priority on them.

A powerful search engine optimization tool is Google’s Webmaster Tools. This program allows you to see how Google’s search engine robots experience your site so that you can change things to make it easier for them to navigate as well as discover what weaknesses your site may have so that you can address them.

Optimize your internal links, too. Not only does using keywords for internal linking increase the ease of navigation throughout your site, but it can also boost your search engine rankings. Use intelligent internal links, such as “Contact [business name]” rather than “Contact Us”, or “View our [item keywords]” rather than “View our listings”.

After reading this article, you should have a working knowledge of SEO. That was a lot to think and read through, but at least you should have an idea of what to do and where, to begin with, the SEO of your site. If need be, take a look at this piece again.

Link building is the most important part to achieve a high ranking website in search engines. It is also an important concept in search engine optimization.

Here I highlight the important factors in the area of link building:

  • Make sure your site has something that other webmasters in your niche or vertical would be interested in linking to.
  • Create content that people will be willing to link to, even if it is not directly easy to monetize. These links worthy pages will lift the authority and rankings of all pages on your site.
  • Create content that legitimate webmasters interested in your topic would be interested in linking to.
  • When possible, try to get your keywords in many of the links pointing to your pages. For e.g., if it is a digital marketing training niche, you can include the following keywords in your content – digital marketing training, online marketing course, digital marketing institute, Google analytics course, web analytics course, Google analytics, search engine optimization course, search engine optimization, web analytics, SMM etc.
  • Register with, participate in, or trade links with topical hubs and related sites. Be in the discussion or at least be near the discussion.
  • Look for places from which you can get high-quality free links (like local libraries or chambers of commerce).
  • If you have some good internal content, try to get direct links to your inner pages.
  • Produce articles and get them syndicated to more authoritative sites.
  • Start an interesting and unique blog and write about your topics, products, news, and other sites in your community.
  • Comment on other sites with useful relevant and valuable comments.
  • Participate in forums to learn about what your potential consumers think is important. What questions do they frequently have? How do you solve those problems or pain points?
  • Issue press releases with links to your site.
  • Leave testimonials for people and products you really like. Oftentimes when the product owner or person posts the testimonials, they will include a link back to your site.
  • Sponsor charities, blogs, or websites related to your site.
  • Consider renting links if you are in an extremely competitive industry.
  • Adult, gaming, credit, and pharmacy categories will likely require link rentals and/or build topical link networks.
  • Mix your link text up. Adding words like buying or store to the keywords in your some of your link text can make it look like more natural linkage data and help you rank well for many targeted secondary phrases.
  • Survey your vertical and related verticals. What ideas/tools/articles have become industry standard tools or well-cited information? What are ideas missing from the current market space that could also fill that niche?
If you have a large site, make sure you create legitimate reasons for people to want to reference more than just your homepage.
